More Than Clean Ingredients

When we say our products are clean, we truly mean it. We pay special attention to the ingredients we use and their sources. We almost exclusively use natural origin* ingredients, and choose organic whenever possible. The certified organic  ingredients are important not only to avoid the pesticide residues for our own health, but also for the health of our pollinating insects and wildlife. Not every ingredient is available in the organic version, but we are constantly on the lookout, and use the most purified versions available otherwise.

We also choose sources more local when possible. For example, we use organic beeswax sourced for United States beekeepers instead of the more easily available beeswax from China, even though the United States organic beeswax is much more expensive! We think it is important to consider the distance our ingredients travel, for the sake of the environment.

We are certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny and use only child labour free mica.

We have a minimalist view when selecting our ingredients. Our ingredient lists are short enough to fit on the back of a lipstick cap! On top of that, our products are always made without:
  • Microplastics (which are unfortunately very common! They are in many eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip glosses, and more. You can read more here).
  • Nanoparticles
  • Synthetic Fragrances
  • Talc
  • PEGs
  • Parabens
  • Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde Donors
  • Silicones
  • Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Mineral oil, Petrolatum, or Paraffin
  • Propylene Glycol
  • Aluminum
  • and many more...

On each product page, the ingredients are listed and explained, so you always know exactly what you are putting on your skin. Each product and shade has the percentage of natural origin ingredients listed.

*Our definition of natural origin includes ingredients that are natural, naturally-derived, and nature-identical. For example, castor seed oil is natural, cetyl esters are naturally-derived, and iron oxides are nature-identical (iron oxides found in nature are often contaminated with heavy metals due to the mining locations, so those used in cosmetics are recreated in a lab to be free of heavy metals and identical in composition to pure iron oxides).
