About Us

Zakiella (pronounced Za-kee-ella) was founded by Zahra and her mother Barbara, with the belief that everyone deserves high performing beauty products and healthy clean ingredients. We use a very high percentage of natural ingredients and we choose organic wherever possible.

Zahra has always been drawn to the colours, textures, and transformative power of cosmetics. This lead her to become a cosmetic formulator. Now, with over a decade of experience, Zahra has developed a deep understanding of the art and science behind it. When we learned that almost all cosmetics include microplastic ingredients, even in clean beauty, we were shocked. Not only is this harmful to the environment, but each time we lick our lips with a lipstick or a gloss, we are eating the microplastics. Formulating high quality cosmetics without using microplastic ingredients has its challenges, but we wanted to do things differently and reimagine clean beauty™. We decided to create our own products and our unique proprietary formulas are now available for all.

Together, Zahra and Barbara have made Zakiella into a brand that celebrates the beauty of nature and the power of self-expression. Our mission is to provide high-quality and eco-conscious cosmetics made with natural and organic ingredients that allow you to accentuate your inner beauty and showcase your unique personality.

We are proud to be certified cruelty free by Leaping Bunny. We've also chosen to reduce packaging waste by printing our labels directly on the product and not using an individual cardboard box for each item. All our cosmetics are handcrafted in Canada and shipped fresh directly to you!
